The Heroic fundament Proctor
John Proctor, a middle aged man with a wife named Elizabeth and twain children whom he loves and takes care of. It may sound like an sightly Puritan life but there is, of course a darker side to it. After committing adultery and be involved with the temptress trials it may sound like this man is nothing more than a reject to Puritan society. The story takes place in the small town of Salem, Massachusetts when a group of girls go dancing in a forest. The girls were caught. After the town finds discover the people gather and accuse them of dancing for the devil and bewitching, indeed they begin the witch trials. One of the main girls involved happens to be who Proctor is having affair on which eventually leads to Elizabeth finding forbidden and losing faith in John and John Proctor being trialed and hanged. Arthur Miller come ons that Proctor is a hero because he has liberal faith to stand up to a lawcourt of law, and show his commitment to Elizabeth and his family.
When Proctor had committed adultery he admitted it to his wife and asked for her set freeness. He does this for the sake of her and the children because he hunch overs in his heart it is wrong.
Elizabeth knows John is truly sorry for what he has done but alls she asks of him is for him to forgive himself for what he has done. A man may think divinity sleeps, but God sees everything, I know it now, I know it sir. I beg you. This proves Arthur Miller is correct because he is schooling to forgive and change his ways. This shows his determination by telling the court about his affair with Elizabeth. It also shows honesty and integrity. Because it speaks deceit and I am honest! But I plead no more!
